This page is largely inspired by the YouTube tutorial by Paresh Rathod below.
He first defines what “web” means. According to the dictionary, it means a complex system of interconnected elements, that is, electronic documents such as webpages.
Website means, “a related collection of www files with a beginning file called a home page.”
A company or a person then tells you how to get to their website by giving you the address or URL.
Web design is the planning and designing of websites. Encompassing these are many elements such as information architecture, user interface, site structure, navigation, layout, colors, fonts, and images.
All these combined make up the goals of a website that suits the needs of the business owner.
The designing part is a key portion of web design. You must think about balance, contrast, emphasis, rhythm, and unity. That’s why you need a keen designer to layout your website. Someone who knows the design elements such as lines, shapes, texture, color, and direction.
The design process’s key points are (1) the need for a good project plan, and (2) a project manager for large projects. You also need to think about the life cycle of a website. You need to know your customer requirements and specifications, information design and taxonomy, graphic design and page template, construction and content development, quality assurance and user testing, publishing and promotion, and finally maintenance.
